MTV’s ‘Awkward.’ season 4, episode 5 preview: Tamara and … party time?

Next time on “Awkward.” … well, let’s just say that things are going to find even more ways to go crazy. The show is building towards the future, and that means allowing for some of the characters to see new things and explore new avenues … including colleges.

This will be one of the first episodes that we’ve seen that will truly explore life after high school to some extent, even if partying is a part of it. While last season was more about watching Jenna show off her wild side, this season has been so far more about the guys being ridiculous d-bag guys, which many are around this age. (Let’s just say that the kidding photo above is already a little outdated.)

What do we want to see in the end here? How about some prospective relationships that really make Matty and Jake realize what they need to do on their end? In just the span of a year, they are no longer going to be the cool guys that have sophomores hanging all over them. That’s when they will realize a little something known as real life, and just how problematic dealing with something like that can be.

Whatever happens, though, you have to remember that “Awkward.” is much more of a marathon right now than it is a sprint, and there is no reason for the show to hurry things along and get to questions that it doesn’t need to answer right away. This is a show that has a long run, and will take its time accordingly.
