‘Sherlock’ season 4: Benedict Cumberbatch finds ‘sexy’ status bizarre
You may find Benedict Cumberbatch one of the most attractive actors alive, but there is one person who may not agree with you: Benedict Cumberbatch. The “Sherlock” star is still getting used to the fact that many obsess over him, and he certainly has a very interesting way to describe it.
The comments below from Benedict come courtesy of a new interview with Polish interview W Cztery Oczy, and he of course attributes most of his status to the fame that comes with playing the character:
“It is weird, shocking … and cruel … I have no doubt that Sherlock subdued all his needs, along with sexual ones, to his work … Apparently fans were OK with that or wanted to comfort me and started repeating that I was sexy until they actually believed I was. I’m harder to convince, because I am a habitual doubter.”
This is something that Cumberbatch is probably just going to have to face over time, but he’s definitely not a stranger to it at that point. The man is a frequent attendee of conventions, and has traveled most of the known world the past few years doing various projects and promotions.
As for the future of “Sherlock,” that much is still pretty unclear as Mark Gatiss said recently that it could be again two years before we end up seeing the show back on the BBC with new episodes. As expected, this is due to the fact that there are constantly a million things going on with everyone. Cumberbatch in particular has a combination of film and TV roles coming up.
