‘Two and a Half Men’ season 11, episode 20 review: Who got ‘arrested’?
Sometimes, “Two and a Half Men” has storylines that cross the line, and become so ridiculous that we cannot bear to watch them. However, that wasn’t entirely what happened on the show Thursday night. Despite our complete disgust over Alan trying to start a prostitution ring in the Malibu beach house using Walden’s sudden desire to have casual sex, there was a lot of fun in this episode.
This episode was mostly silly in a fun way rather than silly in a stupid way. Was the show mocking some desperate women in here? Sure, but they mock desperate men every week so it’s a level playing field. The one good thing that Walden’s addition to the show has brought is more of a balance. While Charlie was a womanizer, he is so emotionally vulnerable that he cannot cope with a real relationship and gets trampled over. It makes for an interesting combination this way with him and Alan.
In the end, not much really happened here. There were no long-term relationships, no game-changing moments, or even something that we will remember a month or so from now. The best part of it was at the end of the episode, where it looked briefly like Walden was actually going to be arrested by a lady cop to teach him the error of his ways with this new “business.” It was really just an actor, but still. The only real problem that we had in this episode is that somehow, Alan completely forgot about Gretchen during all of this. If it wasn’t for what Walden said to his therapist, we would start to think that this was shot out of order and just aired now. Grade: B.
