‘Game of Thrones’ season 4, episode 2 preview: Joffrey, Margaery, and the Royal Wedding

Game of Thrones -Sunday night’s new “Game of Thrones” is going to be one for the ages, or at least one that has been a good year or so in the making. Bust out your best coats, dresses, or any other King’s Landing-approving garb; the Royal Wedding is here!

“The Lion and the Rose” signifies the union between Margaery Tyrell and King Joffrey, and if you were to just look at the photo above, you would almost forget that Joffrey is a complete sociopath that Margaery is marrying out of a thirst for political power. Look at him tolerate a semi-romantic kiss on the cheek! This is one of the first photos of the wedding that has been released to date by HBO, and we even love all the little family emblems behind the two in the background.

Game of Thrones -Since one photo of a wedding is never enough, how about another look now? This is one of the two seemingly preparing for the ceremony itself, looking seemingly pleased with themselves over what they are about to do. As expected, Tywin Lannister doesn’t even bother to smile at a wedding, proving yet again that he is the grumpiest man with power in all Westeros. Usually, people take advantage of this opportunity to either be extremely bratty, or drunken idiots.

Fans of the books know the significant of Joffrey and Margaery’s wedding, and this should definitely make for an hour of TV that you don’t want to miss. The surprise to many may be that HBO is choosing to air this story so early on in the season, given that traditionally, moments of the biggest political significance to Westeros are saved until at least the midway point.
