‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10: Tessa Ferrer already finds life with new show

The latest -Tessa Ferrer really did not stay unemployed for long following her departure from “Grey’s Anatomy.” She’s leaving the show at the end of the season after one full year as a regular in the role of Leah, and the spot she’s heading to next is another program on network TV anchored by a big star: Halle Berry’s “Extant.”

According to Deadline, Ferrer is going to play the part on the new CBS series of Kate Sparks, an astronaut with many good qualities but has also been through a pretty terrible situation. Berry is also playing an astronaut on the show, which is about her return to Earth after a year of being in space, and some of the earth-shattering things that happened to her while she was up there. This is a show that could be awesome, but also could feel like a network’s passionate attempt to cash in on the success of “Gravity.”

Ferrer’s role here is recurring, but you never know … her role on “Grey’s Anatomy” also was at one point in season 9. Before anything else, though, we just have to wait and see whether or not this show is successful enough to be renewed for another season. If it ends up tanking out, then there really is no purpose to anything that we are saying right now. She’ll be gone just like the show is.

Now, we just have to hope that somewhere, someone is realizing that Gaius Charles is way better than the awkward role of Shane let him be most of the time, and he is very much worthy of another job.
