‘The Walking Dead’ season 5 spoilers: What’s the future of Emily Kinney’s Beth?
What’s interesting about the character’s fate is that it may not necessarily be awful, at least according to the showrunner Scott M. Gimple. For more on that, just take a look at what he had to say in a new Q&A on the AMC website:
“I’m neither sadistic nor evil, as far as I know. I will say Beth, in some state, is totally somewhere. I’ll say then, that that’s going to be answered next season. And I’m really excited to tell everybody the answer. It might be a little heartbreaking, it might be a little heartwarming, but it’s going to be interesting.”
So there you have it: A tease for a season that is neither good nor bad. It’s nebulous, like the majority of other storylines right now. For what we know, the majority of the stories are bad-nebulous, and that includes Rick, Carl, Daryl, and most of the other crew trapped in a train car at Terminus. You know that there’s no good that can come from that, but the mystery still lies in what sort of “no good” that we are talking about.
Right now, there are two dates to keep watch of for a “Walking Dead” premiere: Sunday, October 12, and the 19th that follows it. We’d be shocked if the show returns on any day that is other than these two.
