‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: More news on Theon … or Reek

Alfie Allen -Game of Thrones” is an easy show for many diehard fans to predict, given that you have such an enormous amount of source material to go on courtesy of the George R.R. Martin – “A Song of Ice and Fire” series.

This is what made Alfie Allen’s role on the show last year all the more interesting. Since he wasn’t in A Dance with Dragons, you couldn’t know right away just how he was going to be handled. What we saw was a series of torture scenes at the hands of Ramsay Snow (Iwan Rheon), which eventually led to him being proclaimed “Reek.” This is a name that is going to stick with him for a little while longer, and things are not going to get better for him.

For more on this, just take a look at what Allen himself had to say on the subject as a part of a brand-new interview with TVLine:

“I remember talking to [Thrones EPs] David [Benioff] and Dan [Weiss] about what’s in store for me last season, next season, this season, and they were telling me that it’s a lot of mental stuff, rather than physical. Whether that’s better or worse, I guess you’ll just have to leave it up to the person who is watching it.”

To us, we vote “worse.” This is a show that has excelled over the years when it comes to physical destruction and manipulation, so seeing more along those lines would not exactly be a surprise. What intrigues us so much more is the opportunity to really watch some characters be beaten down and tormented on an emotional level, which could lead to them showing new sides of themselves. Theon was never a great person, but it has always felt like there is the capacity for him to be. He just has to find a way to unlock this part of his personality.
