‘Big Brother Canada 2’ review: Is Rachelle wasting her Head of Household?

The latest -During Sunday night’s “Big Brother Canada 2” episode, we hoped to take advantage of the opportunity to learn a few important things on one key subject: Why in the world Rachelle made some of the moves that she did while Head of Household on the live feeds. Why in the world would she nominate Allison (a.k.a. “the new girl,” like the houseguests can’t bother to learn her name) and Heather?

Well, during the episode, she tried to argue that this was the “best move for her game.” She once again made her dislike of Heather very clear, and she also didn’t bother to listen to the voice of reason in Neda.

Here is the only explanation that we can think of for Rachelle to not try and target any of the bigger players in the house: Wanting to ensure that in the short-term, she is safe for a while. She is clearly banking on using her week of safety to take out a weaker or an isolated player, and then going back into hiding while most of the threats all take out each other. While it would be so much more fun to watch her actually go after someone running the show, we do have to be honest when we say that her targeting Andrew would probably be a risky move for her short-term game.

But, Rachelle will never win playing the game this way, and maybe she is just content for getting a good bit of screentime and a prize for coming in second or third place. Maybe she thinks that she can be the new Talla, though the real Talla was so much more entertaining.

As for some other highlights from this episode:

1. Drunk Allison and Jon? Very entertaining.

2. It was interesting to see Sarah fight so hard in the Head of Household Competition, though we really didn’t need to spend a full 20 minutes of this episode all about it.

3. Sabrina may be a pretty unlikable player, but she makes a heck of a sales pitch. Rachelle is going to be so embarrassed when she watches this back after the fact, and realized that she was getting played the whole time.

All in all, this was still a fun episode. It didn’t teach us anything that we didn’t know already, but sometimes, that’s okay. The same goes for watching bad gameplay, at least if it is entertaining. Grade: B.
