‘Big Brother Canada 2’ interview: Paul Jackson on Adel, regrets, and gameplay

Paul -We’ll start this article with some honesty: We never thought that Paul was going to do particularly well in “Big Brother Canada 2” from the moment we watched his casting video. We even thought that he would be the first one out. So he did surpass expectations for that, and we will give him at least credit for being very entertaining. While we don’t agree with everything he said, sometimes having that extra person can cause extra drama at least keeps the game exciting. Him punking everyone with mustard water? Just a perfect example of something that was very entertaining, but also pretty terrible as a game move.

We at least tried to get inside his head a little during his exit interview Friday, and at least got some more information into Adel’s Veto, and also if there is one move that he could have made to have him still in the house.

CarterMatt – We’ll start with this. This past week we saw Ika not really make a big move. Why do you think people are afraid to go after someone like an Andrew? You’re the only person who did.

Paul Jackson – The thing is that in this house, people are intimidated quite easily. The reason that Andrew and Kenny were coming after me was because I wasn’t intimidated by them, and they knew that this wasn’t a good thing for their game to keep me around. I think the longer I stayed in that house, the more influential that I became, especially with them knowing that I was coming after them.

So I think that in this case, they needed to get rid of me.

What was your reaction to Canada giving Adel the special Veto? Obviously , you were close with him, so it had to feel pretty good that Canada was seemingly on your side to extent with it.

Insane. The fact that he won that means that we won it. Plain and simple. I didn’t care who won it; I just wanted one of us to win it. Listen, I helped him make his video for it so I’ll take half the credit … or at least a third!

But the thing is that he has something powerful in his pocket. I know it doesn’t do everything that he says it does, but as long as other people believe it. What kills me about this is that I’m a big fan of the show, and so is Sabrina and Allison. We all know what the Golden (we think he meant Diamond) Veto looks like and what it can do. Why are people not being a little more careful about what he is saying?

Is there any one move that you wish you would’ve made in the game that you didn’t?

This is a touchy one. I really wanted to campaign the last day. Even if I could just talk to the females for a few minutes and say to give me an extra week in the house … I really wanted to do that. But I really didn’t want to jeopardize Adel and some of the people in the house who were fighting for me.

It was a touch decision for me, sitting back and letting someone else play for me. I’m not a floater; I’m a player. If you’ve seen me compete, I don’t sit back. If I had gone to Sarah or Sabrina and given them a two-minute spiel, it might have made a difference. I’m not quite sure though.
