‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 video: Emilia Clarke on audition, doing ‘the robot’

Dany -Why is HBO rolling out all of its “Game of Thrones” publicity more than two weeks before the show actually premieres? That is a very good question. Despite the fact that season 4 actually airs on Sunday, April 6, the network is now currently sending out many of its actors to do talk show after talk show, and that includes getting this opportunity to watch Emilia Clarke on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

This interview is mostly light on the actual news related to the show, but you do find out some funny stuff about Emilia first auditioned for the part of Danaerys, which somehow included her having to bust out both the Funky Chicken and the Robot. This seems unusually cruel, though maybe not on the same level of what Ramsey Snow did to Theon Greyjoy on this past season.

This interview also contains an image of Fallon dressed up as the Mother of Dragons, just in case you really wanted to every have that burned into your brain to the point where it will never be able to escape. It does also include a brief little clip from season 4, as you see a competition going on fr who gets to ride next to Dany as she continues her journey forward to get the ships and armies necessary to go back to Westeros and seize the Iron Throne. To us, the most entertaining part of this is that we have characters who actually are making the assumption that they can control who rides next to Danaerys, when she is the author of her own fate. This clip doesn’t end up well for either of the guys … though we do have something in here to laugh about.

There are some other great interviews about this season that you can watch at the link here, and of course, we’ll have some more as it becomes available. So stay tuned, and sign up for our CarterMatt Newsletter to get updates on everything we cover.
