‘Glee’ season 5, episode 12 review: Puck / Quinn, Brittany / Santana shine in 100th episode

Glee -After a great deal of hype of speculation and fan support, “Glee” came back on Tuesday night with what may have been a 100th episode for the ages. There was so much that we wanted to learn over the course of this entire episode, and we did learn a little.

For example, Brittany has been turned into a math machine, Santana still cares for her, and Quinn seems to have no interest in being in touch with her “Glee” past thanks to her new relationship … at least at first. This episode was sentimental, but still warm and fuzzy at times.

By and large, though, this episode felt like you were watching a huge greatest hits episode that focused on some of the biggest achievements of the entire club’s journey. There were plenty of repeat performances, and really not that much in the way of story.

The biggest “reveals” are that for now, New Directions seems doomed unless April and Holly of all people are able to save it. Meanwhile, we have Brittany and Santana getting closer again (hooray!), and Quinn finally realizing that Huck was the guy for her, and she really shouldn’t be taking off without him. These were nice little moments that we like to think of in a way as closure. This is not to say that these characters are done with the show, but it gives you that nice little punch in the event that there are other matters to address in the near future.

All in all, this was a nice tribute, but we do wish that there was a little more story and less singing. Grade: B.
