‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10, episode 16 preview: Callie, Derek fight; but why?

“Grey’s Anatomy” is a show that is by and large about three things: Medicine, relationship, and conflict. There are sometimes when you even see all three of these things happening at the same time.

The video below from Thursday’s new episode is one occasion where you see medicine and conflict collide, and it is due to the fact that both Callie and Derek have a good bit at stake with their respective practices. They each know that they are on their way to discovering some modern advancements in the field of medicine, but there are plenty of conflicts. For one, there are only so many resources that are made available to them. Not only that, but they also are suffering from the added tension that the government is getting involved in things. Derek has a new team of backers behind him, and with that comes a sense of entitlement.

Derek really better hope at this point that all of this research pans out, mostly because of the sort of sacrifices that he has made for the sake of it so far. First of all, he has been forced to go back on a promise to Meredith, and that is only the tip of the iceberg of what could happen to him if there are some more problems and setbacks with his research.

As for Callie, the biggest thing that she has to worry about is trying to figure out if she is going to be able to get her relationship with Arizona back on track. Right now, it is more of a mixture of many good times, and also many bad ones.
