‘How I Met Your Mother’ series finale spoilers: First photo of ‘Last Forever’

Let the nostalgia and the fond memories begin. CBS has just unveiled their first photo from the upcoming series finale of “How I Met Your Mother,” and if you weren’t getting emotional before at the thought of the show signing off of the air, this will surely be the ticket to making sure that you are now.

It’s true that there is really not that much going on the image above. Basically, it is just the gang standing around, with Barney strangely ditching the suit jacket that he so traditionally wears. That may actually be the most interesting thing about this image as a whole, given just how accustomed we are at this point to seeing that on him just about all of the time. Everyone seems to be somewhat emotional, and we have to believe that this is before Ted finally meets the woman at the center of the show. Cristin Milioti will of course appear here, but the nature of her first meeting with Ted is still unclear.

For the time being, CBS is not giving much away at all when it comes to their finale press release. The synopsis tells you nothing that is new, and the guest cast list is a bunch of potentially-fake parts and also Ranjit, Barney’s famous driver who may or may not actually have a license. Sadly, there are no more clues as to whether or not the Mother may actually be dying, and this is why Ted is telling his children the story. For the time being, this remains the hottest theory as to why the events on the show are unfolding in the exact way that they are.
