ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,’ and Sally with the NRA

The interesting thing about “Scandal” is that while the show has tackled their fair share of (ahem) scandalous topics, one of the most interesting facets of the equation is seeing how the show has really avoided most of the larger political topics in favor of romance and infidelity storylines.

Could that be changing somewhat in the future? It’s possible, at least based on the idea of Sally Langston trying to get in with the National Rifle Association. The show’s upcoming 14th episode this season (which is only four away from the finale, thanks to that new episode count after Kerry Washington’s pregnancy was revealed) is entitled “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” and if you look below, you can also find out some details pertaining to her, Olivia, and Huck:

“Sally sets a meeting with the NRA which sends the White House into a tailspin. Olivia and Huck come to shocking realizations and a surprising person asks for help from Pope and Associates.”

Is the show going to use this meeting to try and spread some sort of anti-gun message? We wouldn’t be surprised by it, though we also imagine that one of the many reasons why “Scandal” hasn’t shared too many political viewpoints to date is that it benefits them greatly to be as unbiased as possible. The longer that they can give off the impression that they are impartial, the more they will be able to keep a huge audience of varying viewpoints. That’s also why political parties have often been left out of the mix.
