‘Big Brother Canada 2’ houseguest spotlight: Can Kenny Brain (and his beard) win?
Kenny Brain is a pretty strange cat. He’s a guy who has an interesting “Big Brother Canada” strategy when it comes to hiding things about himself, and he is also a male model with a gigantic beard. Since when does this happen? Is Kenny a guy whose modeling talent is actually putting things in the beard? We see that underneath the beard, the job makes sense. Maybe he’s a hipster model.
Anyway, we’ll move on since we could probably spend this whole article obsessing over this if we really wanted to. Kenny is a guy who could be a player in the game, and is at least not going to be an early target for any reason. His success at the very end will mostly be a result of whether or not he really relates to people and endears himself to them.
Name – Kenny Brain
Age – 25
Location – Montreal, Quebec. (He is originally from Newfoundland.)
Occupation – Model
Three adjectives that we would use to describe him – Surprising, social, and intelligent.
Strengths – The biggest thing that Kenny has going for him is that it feels like he is someone who people are probably going to like almost right away. He seems pretty easygoing, and has a smart plan to try to stay under the radar and out of trouble for as long as he can. This is the sort of self-awareness that you need early on. He also seems to be deceptively athletic, as he has a history of doing marathons and should do well in the challenges.
Weaknesses – Kenny is a classic pre-season over-thinker, which is that he seems to legitimately believe that he can keep certain parts of his life private. The strangest thing is his quote in the video below about wanting to keep his sexuality a secret. (This could mean a number of different things, so we don’t want to simply assume that he is gay because the show almost always casts a gay houseguest every season.) Is he worried about discrimination, or just doesn’t want anyone to know the real him? Being distant is a big mistake, since over time it can be read as being fake. He seems like someone who is going to be much to indecisive, and that could cause people to have trust issues with him.
“Big Brother” comparison – We see a little bit of Aneal from last season in him, and also maybe a little bit of Kevin from season 11 and Kalia from season 13. All of them were gamers who tried to at least be under the radar for a little while.
Outlook – It’ll take a lot for Kenny to win, since we don’t think he is going to really get enough people on his side. He seems more likely to not make the necessary friendships with anyone other than a few people. His target placement is probably around sixth or so, since he won’t be a target until around then.
