‘Big Brother Canada 2’ houseguest spotlight: All about Heather Decksheimer

Heather -We’re still trying to figure out based on Heather Decksheimer’s “Big Brother Canada 2” profile picture whether or not she thinks that she is going out for Sunday brunch … or into the house for a season stuffed full of drama. She actually reminds us a little bit of Paige from “Royal Pains.”

There are some good things that Heather brings to the table that we are going to discuss below, but there are also some things that already both get on our nerves and have us worried about her. For one, we personally find her voice to be shrill and grating; the only reason we know that is based on what we saw on the “ET Canada” special that aired earlier this week, and we bring it up because it could pertain to how some of the other houseguests act around her this season.

Name – Heather Deckscheimer

Age – 23

Location – Edmonton, Alberta

Occupation – Model agency coordinator. (We first read this as “pageant coordinator,” which had us very worried and gave us nightmares of GinaMarie.)

Three adjectives that we would used to describe her – Energetic, fun-loving, and oblivious. (Yes, those are three words with the hyphen!)

Strengths – The biggest thing that Heather has going for her is that when it comes to her being a significant threat to anyone in game, she won’t be. There is no reason to get her out the first week, the second week, or the third week. She’s not going to win competitions, and she’s probably not going to make that big of an effort to play the game (even if she says that she is a Rachel Reilly fan). She seems to be mostly trying to be the person that people want to spent time with, and make a good many friends.

Also, we do feel like the fact that she already has a boyfriend is good. It keeps her out of the dreaded showmance, which we typically feel like is a bad thing even if it has worked before. As a general rule, it feels like the show listened to complains and tried to not make this season as heavy on the possible showmance candidates.

Weaknesses – We bring up her voice because it could be off-putting to some people, and we realize if that is her natural speaking voice that is completely unfair. But, sometimes life’s not fair like that. She’s also not going to have any prayer of winning if she makes it to the end unless she actually goes there with someone loathed, or actually makes a few moves come final six or so. She doesn’t really seem like someone who is going to go into this game ready to play from night one, and probably won’t be taken too seriously because of it.

One other thing: As someone who wants a career on TV or in movies, we could see Heather being so self-aware that she doesn’t act like herself, and it becomes irritating to the other houseguests.

“Big Brother” comparison – Her whole “I’m going to play dumb and oblivious” strategy seems to be very much like Jordan Lloyd, so we’d say that she is a combination of her and maybe Porsche Briggs from season 13.

Outlook – Heather will probably either go home right before the jury, or at some point during it. She could make it to the final two like Porsche, but we have a very hard time seeing her win. Honestly, she feels more like someone who wants to have a modeling / acting career, and thinks that this for whatever reason is the best way to do that.
