‘Big Brother Canada 2’ houseguest spotlight: The other Andrew Gordon

Andrew Gordon -If Andrew Gordon makes it far enough, we may eventually be able to refer to him as Andrew Gordon 1. But for now, he’s Andrew Gordon 2 compared to Captain Kosher … who we loved during his time on “Big Brother 12.”

What we will say about this “Big Brother Canada” Andrew is that by and large, we like what we see from him. He’s confident but not cocky, is at least moderately familiar with the show, is in good shape, and understands that there is value in sitting back and allowing some of the other big threats to shoot themselves in the foot. That is why he is, at least for now, one of the most interesting people to look out for in the early going … even if we don’t necessarily get the jeans – tie combination that he has going on here.

Name – Andrew Gordon

Age – 27

Location – Calgary, Alberta

Occupation – Restaurant manager

Three adjectives that we would use to describe him – Strong, sociable, and focused

Strengths – He’s going to do a good job at relating to people, mostly because there are times when being in hospitality helps during the game. You’ve at least dealt with a variety of personalities and been forced to be confident. Sure, it also means that he could totally just be here for the fame, but he seems to be reasonably humble, and his admiration for Emmett’s game shows that he at least understands when someone did a pretty good job at the social and strategic part of life in the house.

Weaknesses – Probably likes beer a little too much based on his bio, and we therefore worry about him getting eaten alive in a showmance. Also, we could see him clashing with some personalities, since he is really not into closed-minded people. There are always a few close-minded people every season, and sometimes you have to deal with them to get further in the game.

“Big Brother” comparison – Andrew reminds us a little bit of a slightly-less athletic Hayden Moss, or Memphis from season 10. We can see where some of the Emmett comparisons come into play with him, but we don’t get a sense that he will be that devious. He’s more likely to have an alliance, and rely on other people for the scheming.

Outlook – Like we’ve said, we’ll wait on predictions for a little while … but things are looking up for Andrew. There’s not a huge reason to get rid of him right away versus some other physical threats, and he will make friends in the house. His big test will come at around the final six or seven, where he will start to be targeted. If he does make it to the end, he is someone with the capabilities needed to win.
