‘Glee’ season 5 song spoilers: Hear Lea Michele, Naya Rivera cover The Police

Glee -Tonight, “Glee” season 5 is set to return with “Frenemies,” an episode that is hopefully going to be a provider of some solid insight into what the relationship between Rachel and Santana is like now. The funny thing about the show is that since the move to New York City, there has been an almost-concentrated effort to make the two parties appear a good bit closer than they actually were when they were at McKinley High together.

Luckily, that is going to be addressed during this episode, as we get the fallout from the pretty-egregious action known as Santana opting to be Rachel’s understudy. That’s not the nicest thing in the world out there, right? Rachel of course will freak out about it, and the friendship could be in jeopardy.

As to whether or not this performance of “Every Breath You Take” is somewhat indicative of anything at all, that remains to be seen. All we can say is that this is a pretty bizarre song choice for the two of them. We’ve always thought that it was a great karaoke song, but the more you listen to it, the more you feel like you are just listening to a somewhat-creepy song about people getting stalked. It’s hard to really formulate that much of an opinion to the contrary about it, sad as it may be to say. (Maybe we’re just cynical about it for whatever reason.)

Still, Lea and Naya do a pretty great job with the vocal, and now, we just have to wait and see how good of a job the show does in its new timeslot Tuesday. Given that it’s up now against “The Originals” as well as “Pretty Little Liars,” it is fair to say that we are worried.
