‘Girls’ season 3, episode 9 preview: Are Hannah and Adam getting married?

Did the preview at the end of Sunday night’s “Girls” drop a major bomb, or was what we saw something more along the lines of Adam just trying to make sure someone saw him as important? We imagine that this is a debate that could be waged for quite a while in the days ahead.

The premise for this episode seems to be pretty simple in that Hannah’s grandmother is dying, and she goes back home with Adam in order to spend some time with her before she passes. Adam introduces himself to her, and she tells him (in a way that makes us understand that this is basically an older Hannah) that she really doesn’t want to spend her time right now with strangers. That’s when Adam tells her that they are getting married.

Are we making way more of a deal out of this than we should? It’s very well possible that we are, and this was intended more to just be a little isolated little fun moment. But we know that in Hannah’s head, she will also make a big deal out of this moment and think it over in her brain time and time again. That is why we justify spending so much time on it.

The only downside to the theme for next week is that with Hannah away from her friends, we’re not likely to see many of them. For some of you wondering when in the world Shoshanna is going to have something more to do, that may make you sad.
