‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5, episode 14 video: Caroline, Tyler, and a surprise

Are things pretty awkward for Caroline and Tyler on “The Vampire Diaries“? You better believe it. As a matter of fact, we have no idea how you would think they would be anything other than strange based on what they’ve been through already.

The sneak peek video below for Thursday’s “No Exit” could not possibly be any more awkward than it is, since you have the two characters (played by Michael Trevino and Candice Accola) basically mumbling about coffee, which is the ultimate subject matter for the awkward. Eventually, the two’s conversation is broken up by Matt, who is very surprised to find them there. Meanwhile, Caroline and Tyler are very curious as to where in the world Matt has been as of late … and then they realize that he is not exactly alone.

This is a pretty fun little scene for what is sure to be a larger story, and it does effectively beg the question as to whether or not there can be some sort of future for Caroline and Tyler again. We don’t necessarily think that it is far-fetched, but the two do need to embark on some pretty sizable personal growth before that happens. By that, we are talking about a need for the two of them to really figure out why they are not able to function properly when they should, and Caroline also has to figure out a little more why she did what she did with Klaus … and whether or not there is anything that she is still holding onto from that.
