‘Face Off’ season 6, episode 6 review: A cryptid conundrum

Face Off -If there is one thing that you constantly want to ensure for yourself when it comes to a reality competition show, it is this: You don’t want to be the one person who is paired off with someone with immunity. That means that this person may or may not feel the pressure to really try hard in your team challenge, since they know that they have nothing to lose and the competition is exhausting. Who doesn’t want to take a little bit of a break and save their energy for when it really counts?

Are we saying that this for sure happened with Corrine on “Face Off” Tuesday night? Not entirely, and we know that there are times when a person with immunity (which she got in the Foundation Challenge earlier) can actually cause you to work harder in fear of something embarrassing happening to you at panel. There is nothing more impressive than showing to the judges that you are going to work your butt off at all times, even when you really don’t have to.

But with all of this being said, this challenge themed around cryptids just didn’t happen for her and Matt, and the latter was sent home. Their design really didn’t feel like it did enough; we’ve seen far bigger disasters on the show this season, but you’re at least starting to get to the point now where you need to stand out constantly.

As for who did manage to stand out this time around, think along the lines of Tyler and Chloe. It’s crazy to really think that it was only a few episodes earlier where the former was really freaking out, and unsure if she was going to make it in this competition.

All in all, another strong “Face Off” episode … but we are really waiting to have our socks completely blown off at this point. Grade: B.
