‘The Walking Dead’ season 4: Michael Cudlitz on Abraham, Eugene, Rosita’s mission
Of course, we should start off this “Walking Dead” article with a warning: If you haven’t seen the episode that aired on Sunday night, now is probably the time to stop reading.
Now that the dust has settled on “Inmates,” there is one thing that we can say definitively: Michael Cudlitz is now on the scene. In case you have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Abraham to the show, the waiting his over. He collided this week with Glenn and Tara, and he was joined by his two traveling companions in Eugene and Rosita.
However, he’s not going to be around with his team trying to fulfill the same purpose as most of the other survivors that we have met. As Cudlitz personally tells The Hollywood Reporter in a new interview, it is not going to take very long at all for his true purpose and intentions on the show (which include, like in the comics, a hopeful trip to Washington) to be clear.
“By the next episode, you’ll get all the answers to where they’re going and why. You know they’re headed for Washington but the audience will learn all that in the next episode as to where they’re going, why they think they’re going there, what information Eugene has and that Abraham and Rosita believe him. There is no subtlety in it. It’s this wonderful expositional moment that’s literally ripped out of the comics where you meet these people, learn who they are as individuals and what they need from anyone else — and you better f****ng be on board, because you don’t have a choice!”
Cudlitz also added that there are going to be many other moments throughout his early part on the show that will bear many similarities to the comics, and this could be in some ways one of the most comic-focused stories out there … at least in terms of backstory. Things may change very quickly moving forward.
