‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5: See ‘new’ photos of Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley

Every season for almost any show out there, there are some photos that manage for whatever reason to slip through the cracks a little bit. Sometimes, they are just cool photos that didn’t make it into the initial release for whatever reason in the summer; then, there are some that are forgotten about for a good reason … because they are just over the top silly.

With the new “Vampire Diaries” photos that we have today, it is fair to say that these are definitely in the latter group. These photos are beyond silly, and feature Ian Somerhalder (Damon) and Paul Wesley (Stefan) looking like they are all floating in space. It’s either that or they are a part of some sort of superhero movie. (Note this is no slight on the actors, just some cheesy photos.)

Still, though, you have to appreciate the fact that The CW cares enough to even try to give us some interesting promotional images. We’d much rather have something to talk about here, after all, than nothing at all. There are many shows out there that don’t get promotional photos before the start of a season, and that is a great way to look at this when it comes to cross-comparison.

New episodes of “The Vampire Diaries” are set to air on Thursday, February 27, and many of these are going to be a good time. We’re excited to see what unfolds, and we’ll have more news throughout the week on everything coming up.
