‘Two and a Half Men’ season 11, episode 14 review: Did Alan get screwed again?
Another episode of “Two and a Half Men” is in the books, and with that comes something that is going to feel very familiar: More trouble for Jeff Strongman a.k.a. Alan Harper.
This time around, the trouble for him came when he wanted to finally make a commitment to someone after so many years, but it still did not work out for him as he was hoping. He finally decided to propose to Lyndsey, but it didn’t quite work out for him the same way in which he was hoping. Instead, Larry ended up beating him to the punch in the most ironic way possible: He took Alan’s own advice and ended up using it against him.
For at least a split second here, we felt really sorry for Alan. This was a guy who finally seemed ready to actually make some sort of commitment to the woman he cares about, and maybe this would have sparked some other sort of personal growth. Instead, that didn’t happen, and the long saga of Lyndsey may be at an end.
As for the other story, it wasn’t nearly as interesting … mostly because it was about Walden the bumbling handyman. Every moment in here, whether it be Ashton Kutcher’s character dressing up as “Bob the Builder” (per Jenny), or him falling through the deck at the end, was almost entirely telegraphed. Were there some funny lines here? Sure, but it doesn’t feel memorable like what we saw with Alan.
All in all, this was a decent half-hour, and one that was at least an improvement on some other ways. Grade: B.
