‘Arrow’ season 2: Is spin-off ‘The Flash’ looking at new Barry Allen love interest?
Does Oliver Queen have anything to worry about long-term when it comes to Felicity Smoak and Barry Allen? While the man, soon to be known as The Flash if the new pilot is picked up by The CW, had some feelings for her on earlier episodes of “Arrow” season 2, he has not been mentioned since. Not only that, but the chemistry that is there between Oliver and Felicity is such that pushing the two onto separate shows would likely incite some sort of fan revolt.
When you consider all of this information, it really should not come as too great of a surprise to pretty much anyone that The CW is possibly looking for someone to play the love of his life. According to E! News, this character is Iris, who on the show is a grad student in psychology and also the best friend of Grant Gustin’s character.
For those of you who have been longtime readers of the Flash comic, you likely know just what sort of role Iris has in Barry’s life long-term; but, then again, you have to remember that there is no guarantee that the show is going to line up exactly with what happens with the source material, given that “Arrow” has already killed off Tommy Merlyn, and done things with the Felicity storyline that were never in the comics at all. What we have really enjoyed about this above all else is that the show is almost operating from the heart, which is so much more important at times than just working based on what you think you should do to stay faithful. Tell the story that makes sense with the actors that you have.
While there is not too much to report on this subject just yet, Cisco Roman (who is otherwise known to DC fans as Vibe), will reportedly be a part of the series if it is picked up.

Felicity looks like she’s about to become Oracle in the upcoming ‘Birds of Prey’ episode. Likely not Barbara Gordon since how controling DC is of anything Batman, the Gothom tv show may have the rights to her, or Batman vs Superman movie, also cause she’s no longer Oracle but Batgirl again in the New 52. So I fail to see why they’d set this up if only to move Felicity to another show, getting the actress who playes The Huntress on the show is hard enough considering she’s the lead in Dracula now imagine the logistical issues with Canary on Arrow and Felicity on Flash. Simply put Caity Lotz would have to move to Flash too for this to work, plus the clock tower set is in Arrow…
Odds are it will be Amanda Waller and Suicide Squad that will cross the shows more often. Not saying Felicity, Canary, Green Arrow, Roy, Diggle, & Berry can’t cross shows for a guest appearance or two per season but odds are its the multitude of villains being created who will cross the shows. That way those actors can stay employed while still being grassy in a new city with new allies, that way they always present a danger. The heroes will only cross shows for personal missions, setting up plots, and to back up the key battles.

Once Oliver and Laurel reunite as the Green Arrow and the Black Canary at the beginning of S3, Felicity can become part of The Flash crew. She can be part of a slow burn with Barry Allen and come between him and Iris.
And Arrow would definitely survive the loss of Felicity.

Killing Tommy does actually line up to comics canon. It’s just the comics have run long enough to have resurrected him.

Looking forward to The Flash….It’s gonna be great. Btw I don’t like the idea that each season would end with him investigating his parent’s death, and coming close to the killer.
