ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3 spoilers: Darby Stanchfield teases surprising new scenes

Given how little news is out there right now about “Scandal” (blame the hiatus), we are really at a point at the moment where we will take almost anything that we can get when it comes to scoop. Therefore, we are more than pleased to present the latest headlines now related to Abby.

Have you longed to see this character spend some time with someone who is not a member of the Gladiators? Well, it looks like you are going to have that dream transformed into a reality at some point before the end of the season. Speaking in a new interview with TVLine, Darby Stanchfield explained that there are going to be moments that throw her into a part of the show that typically only Kerry Washington works with:

“It has to do with the other world, the White House world … It’s a role that Abby’s not used to being in, but sometimes Olivia Pope is busy and short-staffed. so Abby’s got to step in. It made for some really nice scenes.”

As for why Olivia Pope is “short-staffed,” that really should not be all that difficult to figure out at all. After all, this is a woman who has to deal with the revelation that her mother is back, and that could cause all sorts of problems for her. Not only that, but there is also the reality that she has feelings for Fitz, Jake is now in charge of B6-13, and she has to figure out where her relationship is with her father. Given that she is a woman who is constantly seen juggling plates, it is hardly a surprise that some of them would come crashing down from time to time.
