‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9, episode 17 video: Robin and Ted discuss his past loves

There is something both nostalgic and very dangerous about the sneak peek below from Monday night’s “How I Met Your Mother” episode. Let’s start with the basic premise of it: Robin and Ted are spending the morning of her wedding to Barney walking along the beach in Farhampton, reminiscing about some of the people who have been in their lives.

While there have been some far-fetched moments all over this show (see “The Rehearsal Dinner”), this is one that we completely buy. What is the reason for that? Think mostly along the lines that it focuses on something that we could see people talking about on the morning of a wedding. Ted’s obviously feeling stuck in a way, given that he is seeing his best friend marry someone else, and of course he’ll be thinking about some of the past people in his life.

However, this is where things get dangerous. He is talking about this with a woman who he previously had feelings for, and that is very troublesome since some of those feelings are still lurking. One more wrong move, and much of the wedding could come crashing down. We don’t feel like those feelings have been fully dealt with yet, either; translation? You better watch out for some crazy stuff coming soon.
