ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 3 spoilers: Some mystery, fun with Mellie’s new love

Are you ready for “Scandal” season 3 to come back on the air? Well, start off here by taking a deep breath. The show is not going to be back on the air until February 27, so you better be the patient type if you are going to make it that far.

So to try to make that wait a little easier, why not present a little bit of Mellie scoop? According to a new quote from TVLine via Bellamy Young herself, she is having quite a bit of “fun” on the set right now with Jon Tenney, who is recurring as a possible new love interest for her character. While she is coy about just how deep in love these two characters are, she does give a pretty hilarious quote on the subject of whether or not she is really ready for love right now: “Is there ever a good time in Mellie’s life?!” Our simple answer to that right now is “no.” We really do not feel like there is.

To us, the most interesting thing that could possibly come out of this Mellie story is that it really does force Fitz to possibly think about his own feelings. How is he going to feel if his wife starts to devote some time to someone other than him for a change? It is at least a nice change from the usual, where she is having to be attached to him, even when she doesn’t want to.
