There have been times already where you could certainly refer to “Beauty and the Beast” as a complicated show. You have a man who has manipulated by the government into something that he never intended to be, a woman who both loves him and is afraid of him, and all sorts of conspiracies stretching very deep into the U.S. Government.
At the moment, though, we may be in one of the most precarious positions ever for the series, at least when you think for a minute about where the characters fit in. You have Cat and Vincent struggling to find their place, and even figure out if they want to have some sort of relationship again. As executive producer Brad Kern tells TVLine, things are going to start to become very complicated:
“We’re trying to explore who Vincent is as a beast and how he’s connected to a deeper mythology. And ultimately Catherine will be connected to it as well. We’re going to find out over the course of the next several episodes that it’s not just Vincent who’s connected to his destiny, that Cat might be as well, in a different way … We’re going to discover that Muirfield was a Chinese box behind a Chinese box behind a Chinese box… a front corporation.”
But what could Muirfield be a Chinese box for? Think along the lines of some sort of enormously evil power that starts to suck the life out of anyone and everyone it touches … or so we speculate. This is going to be fun no matter what.
