Neal Caffrey has a new mission on Thursday night’s “White Collar,” and it is going to be quite the emotional one: Trying to see the truth in Rebecca Lowe rather than just reacting to whatever feelings that he may already have for her.
So how is he going to do this? By orchestrating for the FBI to raid her apartment, and seemingly operating in a way that allows her to think that she is just out on some little romantic excursion. In theory, this should be something that Neal is able to both organize and execute without too much of a problem. Just think about it for a few minutes. This is a guy who manipulates everyone on a constant basis, so doing so now really should not be too much of an issue.
The obstacle is going to be not letting any sort of emotional blinders get in the way of what he is trying to accomplish. For the first time really since his time with Sara, Matt Bomer’s character had finally found someone to spend his time with. For a while, we wanted to believe that she really was someone who was out to cause any trouble … but it just seemed so obvious. Nothing is ever that easy in Neal’s world, and he attracts trouble.
Given that this is the 11th episode of the season, one thing that we can promise is that we are likely in for a wild ride the rest of the way. There are only three episodes left, and with Hagen already out of the picture, is there a more important target right now than Rebecca? This should be fun to watch before we end up saying goodbye.
