‘The Originals’ episode 10 preview: Julie Plec, Michael Narducci talk ‘The Casket Girls’

The first half of “The Originals” season 1 was in some ways was all about Klaus coming back and finding his way within New Orleans. When the series started, we were looking at a guy who was coming into the city with revenge on his mind. Now, much of that revenge has been fulfilled. He has found a way to not only take back what he believed Marcel took from him, but has also figured out a way to even still have the man on his side.

So where do we go from here? How about an episode where all of the women start to establish their authority once again! This is the story of “The Casket Girls,” which is the next new episode of the show airing Tuesday. As executive producers Julie Plec and Michael Narducci explain below, this is really the episode where we start to see some of the female characters start to fight to get their own place in the world.

Specifically, we’re going to be talking a lot about Davina here. Is she really capable of killing an Original? Maybe not, but that does not mean that she will refrain from giving Klaus a good beating if given an opportunity. In addition to her, Hayley and Rebekah are clearly also two characters who have lost a lot since coming to New Orleans, and have a lot to gain by fighting back. You have one woman who is pregnant and surrounded by an out-of-control world, and another who has already been betrayed by Marcel, and is constantly taken advantage of and daggered by Klaus. They have quite a bit to fight for.
