‘Two and a Half Men’ season 11 spoilers: Is Jeff Probst returning?

Have we seen the last of Jeff Probst on “Two and a Half Men”? When the man, his bits, and his bacon showed up on the series last fall, he did so as a guy who basically ruined Walden and Alan’s great time. It is an effective little self-parody, given that everyone thinks of Jeff as this sort of exaggerated macho man character that he is playing on TV. In reality, he’s a married man and stepfather … but that is not nearly as conducive to comedy on a series that often goes for crass humor.

Based on the preview for next week’s episode that aired following the one tonight, we know that Probst will be back for some more comedy as “himself” next week. It will be slightly different sort of situation, but the role will basically be the same. Probst will have lost his shirt somewhere, and will be trying to take some ladies away from Walden and Alan.

For Jeff, the benefit here is that it’s a fun little gig, and it is also great CBS cross-promotion. “Survivor” is one of the few shows on the network that has been around even longer than “Two and a Half Men,” and the two have to have some sort of mutual respect there. Plus, Probst will be back on TV next month for the season entitled “Survivor: Cagayan,” which will feature three tribes based on the characteristics of Beauty, Brains, and Brawn.

As for whether or not Probst eventually becomes some sort of recurring gag that appears time and time again on the show, we’re not willing to go that far just yet. Let’s just take this a week at a time.
