‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9 spoilers: The Mother meeting Robin, her name, and other topics

So far over the course of “How I Met Your Mother” season 9, we’ve seen some great stuff. There have been costumes, guest stars, ice hockey rinks, laser tag, and Lily biting the hand that feeds her (literally). We’ve also seen The Mother (Cristin Milioti) arrive on the scene, and met three of Ted’s closest friends in Marshall, Lily, and Barney. To be fair, she apparently met Barney a while ago, but it was only revealed to us recently.

We’ve heard already that Ted is going to be the last person to meet the woman-without-a-name, but there is still another question worth asking: When is Robin going to say “hello” to this character? She is almost without a doubt the most important person to meet her, at least in that Robin has always been such a difficult subject in Ted’s life. His breakup with Victoria was centered all around her, and the ideal situation would be that The Mother would be able to be friends with Robin, but also help Ted to abandon any sort of the romantic aspirations that he once had.

Series boss Craig Thomas tells TVLine that the meeting between these two characters is going to take place a little bit later on this season, and is going to come at a very important point. (Therefore, you’ll be waiting for a little while to see this happen.) For those curious, there is also some confirmation out there that you will get to know The Mother’s real name before the saga comes to a close.

The first episode back airing on Monday will be the return of the slap bet, but there are also some other big things happening before the end. Ashley Williams returns as Victoria, we have Marshall and Lily planning their future, and there of course are more secret guest stars.
