ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 3 spoilers: Will Emily Thorne ever score a victory?

There are many things that are routinely surprising about a show like “Revenge,” but one of the more interesting ones is that seemingly, Emily Thorne doesn’t really have a good track record at trying to figure out how to actually complete some of her more epic takedowns. While many of her more-isolated actions have turned into victories, it’s hard to really sit here and say that she has really succeeded at all with some of what she actually set out to do when she arrived in the Hamptons in the first place. Just look at where she is now, for example. Not only did she not set up Victoria Grayson as she hoped, but she was still shot … by Daniel. Now, she doesn’t even remember who she is.

The good news for those starting to get impatient about the lack of a major Emily wins is that according to showrunner Sunil Nayar’s comments per TV Guide, there is some sort of victory coming up for her in the near future in the midst of what could still be a long story:

“Surprisingly, there’s so much story left to tell and one of the things the finale helped do is change the nature of how we can do [those stories]. Definitely one of the things we’re talking about is that Emily needs a measure of success by season’s end, just so we understand she is good at what she does.”

For those of you who do have concerns for whatever reason that “Revenge” could be canceled this year, what we would tell you is that even though the ratings are not great, we have a hard time believing that ABC would want to cut it off right before it would arrive at that key syndication threshold. A more likely scenario would be to keep it on Sunday nights at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time (which will be its new timeslot come March), that way there are not huge expectations on it to draw big numbers.
