While “The Vampire Diaries” has seen its fair share of notable characters over the years, there have not been too many of the LGBT variety to appear in Mystic Falls or Whitmore College. Bill Forbes is the major notable name that comes to mind who is, but the show is now adding another name who will be spending time with Candice Accola and her character of Caroline Forbes.
According to a report from E! News, the show is currently casting a new gay character named Luke for the series, who is someone that Caroline is going to spend some time with while at college. The character is described as “handsome” in the casting report, and he will also have a sister that he is extremely protective of. Sometimes being overly protective of another character on this show is not a good thing, since it could lead to some pretty drastic consequences as a result. Guess we will have to wait and see if that happens here.
“The Vampire Diaries” is currently on hiatus until Thursday, January 23, but it will then start off on what is its second major block of episodes for the season. Typically, the way in which this show chooses to operate is that it will air a block in the early part of the year, and then take another break in most of March and early April before coming back to finish things off in late April and throughout the month of May. There is plenty for the show to get to, especially when you are talking about the fate of Katherine and the state of the Damon / Elena relationship.
