‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7 spoilers: ‘Drake & Josh’ star to create comic-book carnage

“The Big Bang Theory” executive producer Steven Molaro has a history working on the classic Nickelodeon show “Drake & Josh,” so it was only a matter of time before he tapped into some of that nostalgia on this show.

Well it seems that the time for this is now. According to a report from TVLine, Josh Peck is going to guest-star on an upcoming episode of the show as a rival to Stuart, the constantly-depressed owner of the comic book store. Stuart’s role on the show tends to ebb and flow; there was a while last season where he was actually a series regular, and while he’s back now in the recurring capacity, we’re glad to see more of him. Anyway, Peck’s store is going to be significantly more successful than the one that Stuart runs, which is going to probably create for an interesting situation as he looks for a way to get people talking about his own establishment again.

With all of this being said, we don’t want to ever see Stuart’s role expand too far to the point where there is talk of a spin-off. Sussman is great, and this is the perfect sort of part where you constantly want to see more of him. He’s also a nice counterpoint here to some of the other characters, given that it’s a person who can make Raj and Howard appear suddenly cool, since his life is in such a constant state of misery that they appear to be more or less happy-go-lucky.

“The Big Bang Theory” returns with new episodes on Thursday, January 2, specifically in the form of one that is all about Penny’s hope to land a role on “NCIS.” (Good luck with that, Penny.) This episode featuring Peck will air a little later in the year.
