‘Sleepy Hollow’ spoilers: The next horseman is…

Sometimes, “Sleepy Hollow” scoop can be fairly big news and other times just a tease. Today, it is more along the lines of the latter as we start to figure out just what sort of nefarious foes that Ichabod and Abbie are going to be squaring off against during some of the final episodes of the season.

According to comments from Roberto Orci to TVLine, the next horse of the Apocalypse that is going to be coming into the world of the show is the one of War. That can’t be good … right? It’s yet another foe for Ichabod and Abbie to take on, and it is a pretty dangerous one.

When “Sleepy Hollow” comes back next month on January 13, we imagine that the first order of business is going to primarily be trying to get Ichabod through a pretty traumatic situation when in comes to his own son. Basically, he had the destroy the spirit of him, and his own guilt and regret, in order to move forward. While this is still a series with plenty of adventure around every corner, it has also taken on a dark, serious tone. We already miss it on Monday nights, and it’s rather sad to think about it premiering again in the new year, being on for two weeks (including the two-hour finale), and then going off the air until September. We’re glad that the show is only 13 episodes in the sense that it gives the writers time to create great stories, but that is still a heck of a lot of waiting to do.
