‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7 spoilers: What is the gang watching?

“The Big Bang Theory” may be off the air for now, but come Thursday, January 2, the show will be making its grand return to CBS with an episode that serves to try and answer a pretty interesting question: Is Penny going to actually find some success in her acting career in the near future?

The story behind this episode is in part going to be Penny-centric, at least in that her attempt to land a role on “NCIS” will be documented. As we’ve said before, that is a pretty nice little crossover moment for the network, and it also makes some sense given that you want the story to feel realistic, and “NCIS” actually films in Los Angeles. Therefore, it’s not lie you are having to move production very far to get the desired effect out of it.

So is the entire gang watching Penny on the show in the photo above? It’s at least a possibility, but they are all clearly transfixed on something. It’s even an important enough event that they also invited Stuart, the one man who is seemingly even more sad and pathetic than any one of the other characters. This will actually mark his own second straight appearance, given that he was also a part of the Christmas episode that aired earlier this month.

The news that “The Big Bang Theory” is taking very little time off for the holidays does not come as much of a surprise, mostly because this is a pattern that they have also followed quite a bit over the course of the past several years. The show does not tend to air many episodes in March thanks to college basketball, and it is also possible this year that the Olympics could lead to a limited amount of coverage there unless CBS feels really confident that they are still going to find a way to drive in viewers.
