‘Dancing with the Stars’ 17: Leah Remini, Tony Dovolani react to pre-finale elimination
There is no spot on “Dancing with the Stars” that you want to stay in the competition more than the week before the finale. If you can survive that one, then you at least know that you have went the distance, and have gotten the opportunity to experience every single little thing that the competition had to offer you.
Unfortunately for Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani, this was simply just not to be. The two were eliminated Monday night in a relatively surprising moment, given that Bill Engvall has been the lowest-scoring celebrity for at least a little while now. While they could be bitter about that, they are choosing to stay pretty positive about the sole fact that they made it this far. As a matter of fact, Tony told “Good Morning America” that in his 16 seasons on this show, there has not been a celebrity that he has looked forward to working with every week more than Leah. She worked hard, and also kept things fun.
As for Leah herself, she claims that she is completely at piece with going home, even if she wanted to obviously stay for as long as she could:
“I did my best … Tony really had his work cut out for him. They should give him a raise. He’s my best friend, my therapist and he’s not even getting anything for that, if you know what I mean (laughs) … He’s just an amazing, amazing human being.”
Anytime that we see a star like Leah on the show, all we can really hope for is that she ends up getting what she hopes to out of the experience. For her, that means having an opportunity to really land a new gig now following her time on “The King of Queens” and “the Talk.” We’re hoping for another great comedy from her, where she can show some of that wackiness and range that she had when working with Kevin James.
