‘Dancing with the Stars’ 17 results: Did Leah Remini, Bill Engvall advance to finale?
Next week marks the “Dancing with the Stars” finale, and tonight’s new episode helped to beg the question: Who was going to make it to the final round? We never even imagined that Bill Engvall could be in a position to get here after starting off looking like everyone’s favorite dancing dad, but he then managed to actually improve somewhat. He’s still the worst dancer on the show by a large margin, but we totally get why there are so many out there who want to see him win. Heck, we want to see him in the finale just because we like him. Sometimes that matters more than anything else.
This episode brought us Maksim Chmerkovskiy as a guest judge, and he did a good job of keeping his personal friendships and such out of the proceedings, and focusing mostly on the dancing. Plus, he was entertaining in a way that did not include throwing some shade on another pro like Julianne Hough did Mark Ballas earlier this season. If Maks is someday a permanent judge, we certainly would not mind that at all.
But in this episode itself, it was still pretty clear that the two best performers are Corbin Bleu and Amber Riley of those left. There’s not really that much competition for it, even if Jack Osbourne has some flashes of brilliance here and there.
The results – Corbin & Karina Smirnoff were announced as the first pair in the finals, and they were followed by Amber & Derek Hough. Shocker! Then, we had Jack & Cheryl Burke, which nearly made Kelly Osbourne in the audience pass out. this is when things started to get intense. Who would make it to the finale? It was … Bill & Emma Slater! This means that we are losing Leah & Tony Dovolani are out, and Bill is in the finale. Surprised? We weren’t at this point, but we seriously doubt that we’ll see Bill as the winner.
