ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2, episode 18 preview: Fitz’s uncomfortable speech

ScandalWho’s ready for a new “Scandal” season 2 episode? Luckily, you’re not going to be waiting for very long, since we are just two days away from seeing what transpires next courtesy of the massive Osbourne crisis.

We can already tell you straight out of the gate that this is not going to be a particularly easy for one President Fitzgerald Grant. In the sneak peek below, you can see Tony Goldwyn’s character have to give what has to be one of the most terrible mea culpa speeches of all time. Why? He has no one to blame but himself for Osbourne’s hiring, and he now has to admit his mistake to millions of Americans, while at the same time reassure them that there is no one else out there on the staff who played a part in this at all.

Is this going to be a particularly easy thing for him to do? We don’t think so, but we imagine that it may be even harder for him once he realizes that Osbourne may not be the guilty party here, after all; while he is busy apologizing, the clip shows Jake up to his consistently-shady business. Scott Foley has to be rather thrilled with having this sort of juicy character at the moment: not only is he getting to romance Kerry Washington, but this part allows him to take part in some devious business that neither Fitz nor Olivia know about. (Unfortunately, we don’t know his motivations right now, either.)
