TNT’s ‘Dallas’ season 2 spoilers: First look at a double episode
Let’s hope that you have some serious time on your hands next week: not only is “Dallas” going to be on TNT yet again with an all-new episode, but you will have two for the price of one. The series is not going to be wrapped up until episode 15, so don’t mistake this for a season finale; instead, we’re just getting a chance to double up on new episodes.
Really, the journey for this drama series all year long has been a strange one. While some shows have been able to weather and even flourish a move to the winter following a summer premiere, it just hasn’t happened here; instead, the show has pulled consistently under three million viewers an episode (excluding the funeral for J.R. Ewing), and to be honest we don’t quite know what the future holds for it. last season averaged a number that is significantly higher than what we have seen this time around, and it may just be due to viewers commonly associating TNT as a network with the summer months rather than the winter.
Ratings concerns aside, it appears that there really is quite a bit to look forward to on the show, as we inch closer and closer to resolving the new “who shot J.R.?” mystery, which we believe will have a conclusion this year that is shocking. In addition to that, there will also be a few other moments that cause your jaw to hit the floor.

Love, love this show!! Best show on TV. Can’t believe it does not have higher viewer numbers, but I think that is because no one knows it on. Advertise this great show TNT or let one of the major networks have it so they can promote it better!

Nancy, I’ll add Pam has not come back because Victoria Principal has turned down several offers to do so. She is the reason Pam is missing, for now. She is very sucessful with her cosmetics line and doesn’t need to act. However, I think she’s being foolish. Just having her name on this show would benefit her “brand” in so many ways. Any original cast member who says no to a spot on this reboot is crazy.

Dallas is one of the best written and acted shows on television. TNT made a blunder and they would be foolish to allow it to kill this series. They did not order enough episodes of Season 1 so when it was a hit they ran out. Then they went back into production with Season 2 to get it back on the air AT THE WRONG TIME. TNT is known for summer series when it’s not fighting the major networks. TNT’s missteps caused the ratings decline and they can afford to do a season 3 IN THE SUMMER where it belongs. I think they’ll find it rebounds nicely.

PLEASE keep Dallas — watched all the originals in the 80’s and this “revival” is fantastic. Move time slot and it will gain more viewers — it is up against too many popular things on regular channels.

Seriously – Scripted drama does not get much better than this. Plus the acting and directing is superb. Splitting up the seasons or partial seasons or whatever between summer and winter, however, is VERY confusing. I wasnt even aware a new season had started until about three weeks ago. Which is a shame as Dallas is definitely my favorite show on TV.

I love Dallas!!!!! I never watched the old show but as soon as I got hooked into this one I’ve been getting the old show on dvd. Dallas makes my monday nights better and more enjoyable. I love the writing, the cast and crew, and all the intense edge-on-your seat drama. This is my #1 show (along with other shows that I like). I couldn’t imagine my monday nights without Dallas. Please have Dallas come back for more seasons.

Like previous posters, I would agree that the writing and story lines on “Dallas” have been outstanding. The cast is excellent, particularly Josh Henderson and Jesse Metcalf. The older actors from the original incarnation are excellent and I like the use of veteran actors like Steven Webber and Lee Majors in supporting roles. What a show. As for the ratings, consider that “Dallas” is on a cable network, it airs at 9 p.m., 11 p.m. and again over the weekend, so the ratings for all three airings should be combined. Also, it is going up against some big competition, which it didn’t face in the summer. When it comes to ratings, summer and winter are two completely different seasons for shows on networks like TNT. I hope the network will continue to support this show and ramp up its advertising efforts to promote it. It will be worth the investment.

Love this show. Maybe move to a different season? Or perhaps if another network picked it up? The writing, cast, and acting are fantastic.

dallas keeps it real and it should be advertized more on stations after news etc and the rating would be sky high that show is so hot it has more hell raising inside a family that i ever seen in my life but when some one turns on tthat family they stick together the drama is real because people are really cold blooded like that in familys every where we just dont want to face it i am black and i could watch dallas all night long i cant take my eyesoff it keep it please

Dallas is so well-written and so packed with drama, I can’t believe the ratings are considered to be low. It is one of the best shows o TV. Perhaps the time slot is an issue against Dancing With the Stars, but Dallas should remain on TNT! We also love seeing the “old” original actors mixed in with the young ones. I’d bet the demographic includes more of us 50-somethings who really enjoy seeing the original actors…would love to see more of them in the future! Really is an excellent show!!! Amazing writing!
