Apparently, the folks behind ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” were not content with having just one show to talk about; instead, they want to add another show to the mix from the same universe.
On Tuesday, the network announced that there will be a new series entitled “Ravenswood” that will be airing this October, and its premiere will fall after the show’s annual Halloween special. Unfortunately, trying to find out additional details about are a pretty tough go for the time being. though executive producer Marlene King did have the following to say in a new post on her Twitter account:
“We can’t tell you who’s in it yet. Like Rosewood, Ravenswood has dark secrets. #Ravenswood“
If we had to guess what the network is planning for the series, it will be to take a couple of the supporting characters on “Pretty Little Liars” and then plunge them into a different world, much like “The Vampire Diaries” is doing with “The Originals.” In this case, though, they would have to find a few people who were not so needed for the main story involving Hanna, Spencer, Emily, and Aria anymore, which could prove difficult. We would also surmise that the Halloween special will serve as some sort of backdoor pilot, largely so that they can ensure that fans of “Pretty Little Liars” really have a shot to know what the other series is about.
Hopefully, we’ll find out a little bit more news on the show in the weeks and months ahead. Meanwhile, season 4 of “Pretty Little Liars” is set to make its debut on June 11.
