The Bachelorette spoilers: Corinne Olympios, Raven Gates join Rachel Lindsay

Raven Gates

Why is Corinne Olympios appearing on Rachel Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette? Believe it or not, she’s not there to cause drama. Instead, she’s there as one of many allies for Rachel as she kicks off her new season.

In the sneak peek below (via E! News) from the premiere, one of the things that you get a chance to see is the likes of Corinne, Alexis Waters, Raven Gates, and many other familiar faces stop by to give Rachel some advice before the season. This is something that happens with many seasons now in some shape or form, though with most season of The Bachelor you end up seeing former Bachelors take on the role. This is interesting since it gives you more of a “squad” feel; these people are Rachel’s genuine friends, and they know more what she’s like than someone like JoJo Fletcher would. (Hasn’t JoJo fallen completely off the map with Bachelor Nation since her finale? She’s been all over the place on social media, but fairly quiet on the show.)

What’s also interesting about this preview is that you can most likely consider this an audition tape for many different women who are looking already to get on Bachelor in Paradise this summer. Raven’s already committed, while Corinne is a lock provided that she wants to do it. Alexis is such an ambassador of the show at this point on social media that she feels like a near-lock. The other women? Well, they’re more in the toss-up category, and in between this and The Bachelor: The Women Tell All, there aren’t many other occasions to state your case.

One thing that is fairly interesting here is that despite Corinne being edited by and large as the enemy on her season, she clearly still seems to have a lot of friends here! What’s a little odd is that there is no Vanessa Grimaldi, given that she is the one person who could offer up some advice as to actually function in life after the show with the person you get engaged to. (That’s no spoiler — Rachel already announced publicly in a pretty surprising move that she is in fact engaged.)
