‘The Flash’ season 3, episode 13 preview: Brace yourself for Flash – Grodd gladiator showdown

The Flash -Tuesday’s “The Flash” is right around the corner now, and just in case you weren’t excited about this episode just yet, you’re going to be judging by the new video below.

In this clip, executive producer Aaron Helbing makes it clear precisely what you’re going to be seeing in “Attack on Gorilla City,” a story that begins with the Earth-2 Harrison Wells getting kidnapped and Jesse Quick coming over to Earth-1 with a warning about what happened. Eventually, Barry will find his way there with Cisco, Caitlin, and Julian, but the quartet are going to run into some problems — specifically, we’re speaking here in terms of Grodd also kidnapping them, locking them away, and dampening their abilities to do anything about their present situation.

Here’s the part of this that REALLY has our blood pumping: The idea of their being some sort of gladiator-esque showdown at the tail end of this. It’s something that Helbing specifically hypes up, and it’s fair to say that our eyes and ears are attuned to whatever this could be! You’ve got Barry in one corner, a supercharged gorilla in the other, and there’s no clear indicator as to how this is going to wrap up … other than that Grodd is involved in the upcoming February 28 episode, as well. This is a two-part story, and over the course of these episodes we’ll get a good chance to see everything build towards an exciting conclusion.

The thing to be the most worried about when it comes to Grodd is simply the timing of it all. The more time that he had separate from the STAR Labs crew in Gorilla City, the more time he had to build up his powers and abilities. This is, by far, the most dangerous iteration of the famed ape that we’ve had a chance to see on the show to date. He has the biggest arsenal, and he’s much more on his own home turf.
