‘Supernatural’ season 12, episode 10 preview: Show bosses on flashbacks, Alicia Witt’s arrival, and more

Lily Sunder -

Tonight, “Supernatural” will be airing an episode entitled “Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets,” which based on title alone should be one of the coolest episodes airing this season. There are specifically two other excellent things about it: Misha Collins getting a ton of air time, and Alicia Witt kicking butt in an eye-patch.

The video below features showrunners Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer taking you into the crazy world of this episode, and they start by reminding us of what just transpired at the end of the winter premiere: Castiel managed to save Sam and Dean by taking out the reaper Billie, but it was clear that there would be some ramifications of this move. What these ramifications are remains unknown, but Witt’s character may be the perfect distraction for the Winchesters and our beloved angel. After all, her violent actions towards angels have the three guys on high alert, and she gives them a reason to team up and do their best to take her out. From here, awesomeness seems to ensue, and the distractions of Billie’s sudden end fade into the background.

Beyond just the action sequences, Dabb and Singer make it clear that this episode is also going to feature some flashbacks to the golden age of derby hats — something that we find especially fun. Hey, remember that Collins is going to be appearing on an episode of “Timeless” a little bit later this month, playing Eliot Ness who knows a thing or two about spiffy hats. These flashbacks, in addition to giving you some more insight into Castiel’s history, should make it all the more clear why he and some other angels are being targeted.

Based on what we’re seeing so far, it feels pretty easy to say that we’d be more than thrilled if we get to see Witt in some capacity again in the future. We have been a long time fan of her work, so any time we get to see more of her is a treat.
