‘Supernatural’ season 12, episode 10 preview: Alicia Witt guest-stars in big Misha Collins episode

CastielTonight on The CW, “Supernatural” season 12 returned with “First Blood,” an episode that is certainly different than many others that we’ve seen over the course of the show’s run. Just remember for a minute or two here that Sam and Dean found themselves captured by the government, and for a supposed crime that they were never trying to commit. It’s not often that you get to see our heroes facing off against a real-world entity like this, but one way or another, you knew they were going to be free. After all, a season with the Winchesters constantly behind bars isn’t the sort of season that everyone out there is going to want to sign off on.

As we move forward into the next episode of the series entitled “Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets,” the focus is going to be shifted over to Misha Collins’ character of Castiel. Obviously, the Winchesters are going to still be involved, but this is a story that traces back over a hundred years into the past when even their ancestors weren’t around.

Synopsis – “Lily Sunder (guest star Alicia Witt) steeps herself in black magic, honing her powers for over a century, waiting to exact revenge on a band of angels that murdered her family. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) must work quickly to stop Castiel (Misha Collins) from becoming her next victim.”

Seeing Witt on the show should prove to be a lot of fun, especially given that she had such a memorable turn over on “The Walking Dead.” Castiel episodes are in general consistently entertaining; he’s got so much backstory and history that has never been explored, and that’s why you bring an angel into the fold! You don’t get that otherwise.

Promo – You’ve got an eyepatch, some violence, and Castiel’s past. What’s not to like? Tonight, we saw Castiel go as far as to destroy Billie in order to save the life of Sam, Dean, and Mary. With that in mind, we have a feeling that they are going to be there for him and then some.
