‘Supernatural’ season 11 spoilers: Amara starts to wreck havoc

You had to know that it was only a matter of time on “Supernatural” before the Darkness started to take over and Amara started to unleash her full power, and that could be coming on the “O Brother Where Art Thou?” winter finale airing on December 9. We imagine that there will be surprises, despair, and a whole lot of awesomeness given that this character is going to really begin to take center stage.

The synopsis below does not reveal everything, but we imagine that it’s probably still enough to have you excited about what could be coming up:

“Amara (guest star Emily Swallow) unleashes her power on the local townspeople as she issues a shocking challenge. Dean (Jensen Ackles) tries to better understand the hold Amara has on him, while Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Crowley (Mark Sheppard) come up with a plan that could have disastrous consequences.”

There are still a wide variety of things to be excited about with Amara going beyond this episode, mostly because it feels safe to say that this is really still the beginning of what the character is going to inflict. Is there a way to get through to her? We feel like that is going to be one of the larger challenges. While she may in some ways feel diametrically opposed to God, the idea here is still that she is his sister, and there may still be a way to get through to her. We are probably more excited about this main story right now than most others over the past few years; here’s to hoping it lasts.
