‘Supernatural’ season 11, episode 8 preview: Sam’s imaginary friend creates incredible confusion

Supernatural -

There are times when we don’t love the standalone “Supernatural” episode, and typically that includes the times you see Sam and Dean take down some reasonably-generic werewolf in an old, worn-down town. However, we love them when the writers manage to come up with something so weird and insane that it makes us question how they are able to come up with such ideas.

The upcoming December 2 episode “Just My Imagination” is one of these such occasions, since the entirety of the story seems to be revolving around the notion that Sam can suddenly see once again his imaginary friend from when he was a child. He doesn’t understand why, and also why Dean all of a sudden can also see him. The from below is weird, and the same can be said for the synopsis:

“Sam (Jared Padalecki) is shocked when his childhood imaginary friend Sully (guest star Nate Torrence) makes an unexpected appearance. Sam can’t understand why he’d see Sully now but what’s even more surprising is that Dean (Jensen Ackles) can see him, too. Flashbacks reveal young Sam’s friendship with Sully and why he needed him.”

We feel like there is a very mixed reaction to some of these stories at this point, given that everyone wants more information on the Darkness and Sam’s visions. We get that, but if the show was to only give you stories on that, it wouldn’t really be “Supernatural” anymore! We presume that some information is going to come during the winter finale airing following “Just My Imagination,” and from there it will pick back up early next year.
