‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Ben Zorn, Kaitlyn Bristowe, and one awkward date

We have spent a heck of a lot of time lately discussing some of the Nick Viall headlines and the Snapchat fiasco with Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of “The Bachelorette,” and because of that we’ve drifted slightly from what is another familiar topic of conversation here: Relentlessly mocking some of the terrible group date ideas that the producers come up with.

For the most part, this one in Ireland may take the cake of the worst of the season, since the idea of having a fake Irish wake for Kaitlyn in Dublin is all sorts of ridiculous. It’s not really something that is that funny, even if she is awkwardly lying in some sort of Dracula coffin while guys come up to her and share some parting words. This seems better suited for one of those emotionally terrible games that they play on “Marriage Boot Camp” than this show, given that these people are all still getting to know each other.

Now, let’s get into the reasons that this date is truly messed up.

1. Remember a year ago, when Andi Dorfman suitor Eric Hill actually died while the show was still in production? That still seems far too fresh in our mind for the show to be staging any mock funerals for anyone.

2. Ben Zorn already lost his mother, so as the sneak peek below (via AOL) shows, this is even more difficult on him than it is some of the other people who are taking part in this. He seems to handle it pretty well, but we feel for the guy.
